Richard Dawkins is an English mythologist, evolutionary biologist and author. He was an Honorary Fellow of the University of New College Oxford and Professor of Public Understanding of Science at the University of Oxford from 1995 to 2008. As an atheist he was known for his advice on creativity and smart design. Dawkins first rose to fame for his 1976 book The Selfish Gene, which popularized the genetics-centric outlook of evolution and coined the term meme. With his extensive phenotypic book, he introduced the influential concept of evolutionary biology that the phenotypic effects of genes are not necessarily confined to the body of the organism, but can spread to the lips. In 2006, he founded the Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science. In The Blind Watchmaker, Dawkins argues against the watchmaker analogy, an argument for the existence of a supernatural creator based on the intricacies of living creatures.
