Richard Lee Petty, nicknamed "The King", is a former American antique car racer who raced from 1958 to 1992 in the previous NASCAR Grand National and Winston Cup series, notably a Plymouth Champion. / Pontiac number 43 for Petty Enterprises. He was the first racer to win a Cup Series seven times, while simultaneously winning a record 200 races in his career, including the Daytona 500, a seven-time record, and a record 27 races in season five alone. 1967. According to statistics, he is the most successful racer in sports history and one of the most respected figures in motorsport in general. Petty remains very active in the sport as the owner of a NASCAR Cup Series team and Petty's garage owner in Level Cross, North Carolina. In her five-decade career, Petty has collected a record number of Poles and more than 700 Top 10 in her record 1184 appearances, of which 513 consecutive appearances from 1971 to five 1989 .
