Richard Vance McDonald is an American country singer and songwriter. From 1998 until his departure in 2007, he was the lead vocalist of the band Lonestar, having recorded seven studio albums on BNA Records while as the main vocalist. During the first seven years of the band's existence, he alternated with then bassist John Rich as the lead singer. McDonald's became Lonestar's sole lead vocalist after Rich left. McDonald co-wrote several of the group's singles and sang the lead roles in all but one; He will join the group in 2011 before returning in 2021 to perform with The Frontmen of Country. In addition to Lonestar, he has twice been a guest singer on songs by other people, in addition to releasing two independent albums and four solo singles.
