Richard Preston Carlisle is an American basketball coach and former player as the Dallas Mavericks head coach of the National Basketball Association. He is also the head coach of Indiana Pacers and Detroit Pistons. As a player, Carlisle played for the Boston Celtics, the New York Knicks and the New Jersey Nets. He is also one of eleven people to have won an NBA championship both as a player and as a coach.
