Riyad Karim Mahrez is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for Premier League club Manchester City and is captain of the Algerian national team. Mahrez started his career as a youngster for French club AAS Sarcelles. He turned professional in 2009 with Quimper, where he played just one season before moving to Le Havre, spending a total of three years with them, first playing for their reserve team and then becoming a regular on the team. In January 2014, Mahrez signed for England side Leicester City, helping them win the league and advance to the Premier League at the end of their first season. In the 2015-16 season, he was Algerian Footballer of the Year, PFA Player of the Year and a member of the PFA Premier League team helping Leicester City win the Premier League. He signed for Manchester City in 2018, winning Premier League, FA Cup and EFL Cup titles in his debut season.
