Roger Searle Penske is an American businessman and businessman engaged in professional auto racing and a retired professional racer. It is best known for ownership of Team Penske, DJR Team Penske, Penske Corporation, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, IndyCar and other automotive related companies. Sports Illustrated named him Driver of the Year at the American Sports Car Club in 1961. After retiring from driving a few years later, he created one of the most successful teams in racing IndyCar Series and NASCAR. He is the most successful owner of the Indianapolis 500 with 18 victories. He is known as "The Captain". In addition, Penske is a racing strategist for his IndyCar team, currently a Will Power racer. Penske is a company director at General Electric and served as president of Super Bowl XL in Detroit, Michigan. He previously served on the boards of Home Depot and Delphi Automotive before resigning as chairman of the Detroit Super Bowl committee.
