Of 2011, he became the head coach of the Carolina Panthers in the National Football League. He led the team to Super Bowl 50 following a near perfect 15-1 regular season in 2015. In 2013 and 2015, he was selected NFL Coach of the Year.
Ronald Eugene Rivera, nicknamed Riverboat Ron, is an American football team head coach for the National Football Federation's Washington soccer team. Before becoming a coach, Rivera attended the University of California at Berkeley in the early 1980s, where he played college football for the Golden Bears and was recognized as an American defender. Upon graduation, he was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the second round of the NFL Draft in 1984 and as part of their 1985 team that won the Super Bowl XX. He spent 9 years playing for them and retired after the 1992. Rivera's coaching career began in 1997 when he was a quality control coach for the Bears. He then joined the Philadelphia Eagles as a full-back coach two years later before joining the Bears to become their defense coordinator in 2004
