Ronald Dean McDowell is an American country music artist and musician. He is known for the song "The King Is Gone" in 1977, in tribute to Elvis Presley's death. From that single, McDowell recorded more than 30 hits in the Top 40 of the Billboard Country Music Chart, though he never had another pop hit after "The King is Gone". Two of her singles - "Older Women" and "You're Gonna Ruin My Bad Reputation" - hit number one on the country charts, while another 11 hit the Top 10. He also has released more than 20 studio albums and signed with Curb Records since 1986.
