Rosemary Ann Harris is an English actress. She was an American Theater Hall of Fame Independent Artist in 1986. Harris began her theatrical career in 1948, before making her Broadway debut in 1952. For her theatrical work in New York City, she was a Drama Desk Award winner four times and nine. was nominated for the Tony Award, won the Tony Award for Best Actress in the 1966 play The Lion in Winter. On television, she won the Emmy Award for the 1974 TV series Notorious Woman. and the Golden Globe for the small film Holocaust in 1978. For the 1994 film Tom & Viv, she received an Oscar nomination for best actress in a supporting role. She is the mother of actress Jennifer Ehle. In 2002, she played Peter Parker's Aunt May in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, a role she reappeared in Spider-Man 2 in 2004 and Spider-Man 3 in 2007
