Rutgerus Johannes Martinus van Nistelrooij is a former Dutch football player and coach. He is currently the coach of PSV Eindhoven's U19 team and assistant coach for the Netherlands team. Once a striker, Van Nistelrooy is often regarded as one of the best strikers of his generation. He is the top scorer in three separate UEFA Champions League seasons and is the sixth most scorer in the league history with 56 goals. He is also the player to score the most goals in three different European national leagues. Van Nistelrooy started his career with Den Bosch, before moving to Heerenveen, eventually making a name for himself at PSV Eindhoven, where he won two Eredivisie titles.
