David Ryan Adams is an American singer, songwriter, record producer and poet. He released 17 albums, as well as three studio albums as a former member of rock / alt-country group Whiskeytown. In 2000, Adams left Whiskeytown and released his critically acclaimed first solo album, Heartbreaker. The album was nominated for the Music Awards in Shortlist. The following year, his profile increased with the release of a certified UK gold record, including the hit single "New York, New York". During this time, Adams worked on a number of previously unreleased albums, merged into a third solo album, Demolition. Working at full speed, Adams released the rock music-influenced classic Rock N Roll, after the planned album, Love Is Hell, was rejected by Lost Highway. As a compromise, Love Is Hell was released in two EPs and finally released complete in 2004
