Sam Lowry Hunt is an American singer and songwriter. Born in Cedartown, Georgia, Hunt played soccer in high school and college and tried to pursue a career in professional sports before signing with MCA Nashville in 2014. Prior to his successful solo career, Hunt was credited with writing singles for Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Billy Currington, and Reba McEntire. His first studio album, Montevallo, broke a number of records with five singles created from that record, including three consecutive Hot Country Songs charts and four number one charts. The album's lead single, "Leave the Night On," also topped the Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts, making Hunt the first country music artist in 22 years since Billy Ray. Cyrus entered the top three country rankings at the same time. in the Nielsen SoundScan era.
