Pokemon creator and founder of GameFreak, Inc., a video game company. Pokemon Red, Green, and Blue, which he created as a video game, subsequently became a blockbuster anime series and film franchise.

Satoshi Tajiri is the Japanese video game designer and director best known as the creator of Nintendo's Pokémon franchise and a founder and president of video game developer Game Freak. As a fan of the arcade game, Tajiri wrote and edited his own Game Freak video game fanzine with Ken Sugimori, before developing it into a development company of the same name. Tajiri claims that reuniting the two Game Boys via a linked cable inspired him to create a game showcasing the collection and companion of his childhood hobby, collecting bugs. The game, which became Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, took six years to complete and then sparked a multi-billion dollar franchise that re-energized Nintendo's handheld game. Tajiri continued to direct the Pokémon series until developing Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, when he changed his role of executive producer. Tajiri has also worked on other projects, including Mario's sidebar.
