Seanan McGuire is an American author and director of photography. In 2010, she received the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer from the 2010 World Science Fiction Convention. Her novel “Every Heart a Doorway” received the 2016 Nebula Award for Best Novel, the 2017 Hugo Award for Best Novel and the Locus 2017 prize for best novel. McGuire is known for his urban fantasy novels. She used the pseudonym Mira Grant to write sci-fi / horror stories. As Grant, she posted the political horror / zombie series Newsflesh, which includes streams, delays, power outages, and commentary. Blackout was nominated for the 2013 Hugo Award for Best Novel. Additionally, in 2017, The Wine in Dreams was released as part of the collection of novels, Star Wars: Canto Bight, a sequel to the 2017 Star Wars: The Last Jedi movie. In 2013, McGuire received a record five nominations for Hugo, a total of two nominations for Grant and three other nominations under his name.
