Sekou Oumar Doumbouya is a French professional basketball player for the Detroit Pistons of the National Basketball Association. With a height of 2.03 m and 105 kg, he plays both a small scorer's position and a powerful striker. Born in Conakry, Doumbouya grew up in France and started his career at local club CJF Les Aubrais at the age of 13. The following year, he attended INSEP and played for the amateur team of the Federal Center. His professional career began in 2016, when he joined Poitiers Basket 86 in the French second division, with the team for two seasons. In 2018, Doumbouya moved to the first division by signing with Limoges. After one season, he was selected by the Pistons with the 15th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. He is currently the youngest active player in the NBA. Doumbouya is a member of the youth team of the French national team. He helped France win gold at the 2016 FIBA European Youth Championship, which ended as his team's top scorer.
