Sergey Mikhaylovich Brin is an American computer scientist and Internet entrepreneur. Together with Larry Page, he co-founded Google. Brin was chairman of Google's parent company, Alphabet Inc., until his resignation on December 3, 2019. He and Page remain at Alphabet as co-founders, controlling shareholders, board members and staff. As of April 2021, Brin was the 8th richest person in the world, with an estimated net worth of US $ 100.2 billion. Brin immigrated to the United States with his family from the Soviet Union when he was 6 years old. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, following in his father's and grandfather's footsteps by studying math, as well as computer science. After graduating, he enrolled at Stanford University to obtain a doctorate in computer science. There, he met Trang, with whom he built a search engine on the web.
