Sprinter from Colorado who won bronze in the 1000m race at the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008. She has also won bronze at the World Cross Country Championships on multiple occasions.
Shalane Grace Flanagan is a former American long-distance runner, Olympic medalist and New York Marathon champion. She is the first American to win the New York Marathon since 1977. She holds the NACAC regional record at 5,000 meters and 10 kilometers. She won a silver medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in the 10,000-meter category and a bronze medal at the 2011 IAAF World Championships. She won the 2017 New York Marathon for women, being the first American woman doing this since Miki Gorman in 1977
