Shangela was the first contestant to be eliminated in the second season, and returned as a surprise contestant in the third season of the series, coming in sixth. She made her comeback again in the third season of RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars, where she came in fourth / third alongside BeBe Zahara Benet. Shangela has also appeared on television and performed regularly in the United States and Canada.
