From 1996 to 2001, he was a member of the Vancouver Grizzlies, and in 2002, he was named to his first NBA All-Star game as a member of the Atlanta Hawks.
Julius Shareef Abdur-Rahim is an American former professional basketball player who is the president of NBA G. League. He is also the player human resources director for the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association and general manager of the Reno Bighorns, a small branch of the Federation of Kings. Last time he played in the NBA for the Kings. On the basketball court, he played both as striker and center-back. He left the University of California at Berkeley after a year to compete at NBA Draft 1996. Early in his NBA career, Abdur-Rahim was the star of the Vancouver Grizzlies. He was transferred to the Grizzlies in 2001, then played for the Atlanta Hawks and the Portland Trail Blazers before joining his final team, the Sacramento Kings. Nicknamed Reef, Abdur-Rahim was named the NBA All-Star during the 2001–02 season. He also played for the Men's National Basketball Team of the United States, which won a gold medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
