Shelden DeMar Williams is a former American professional basketball player and current assistant coach of College Park Skyhawks of the NBA G League. He played college basketball at Duke University, where his number 23 jersey was retired on January 28, 2007. His size, aggressive style, and disruptive abilities earned him the nickname "The Landlord". In high school, Williams was a member of the National Honor Society and the Christian Athletes Fellowship. He won the NABC Best Defensive Player of the Year award in 2005 and 2006 at Duke, becoming the fifth player in history to win the award two years in a row. He holds Duke's career block record, one-season block record, and career recovery record, as he ranks 17th among career blocks in the NCAA rankings. He is the third player in ACC history to have 1,500 points, 1,000 rebounds and 350 blocks.
