Shobana Chandrakumar Pillai, also known as Shobana, is an Indian film actress and dancer Bharatanatyam. She performed mainly in Malayalam, in addition to movies in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and English. She has won two National Film Awards, a Kerala State Film Award, 2011 Kalaimamani and many others. Shobana established herself as the top actress in the 1980s and 1990s. She has twice won the National Cinema Award for Best Actress for her roles in Malayalam Manichitrathazhu and language film. Mr. Mitr, My Friend. As a result, in 1999, Shobana became extremely selective in her films. Shobana is trained by the dancers Bharata Natyam Chitra Visweswaran and Padma Subrahmanyam. She emerged as a freelance performer and choreographer at the age of 20 and currently runs a Kalarpana dance school in Chennai. In 2006, the Indian government honored him with Padma Shri for his contribution to the arts.
