Sidney Katherine Powell is an American lawyer and former federal prosecutor best known for promoting conspiracy theories aimed at overturning the 2020 US presidential election. After graduating from law school in the year 1978, Powell began his career as the United States Assistant Attorney in the Western County of Texas. During her term, she sued Jimmy Chagra, who was involved in the May 1979 assassination of US District Judge John H. Wood Jr. She quit acting as a prosecutor in 1988 and started her own business in 1993. She acted as a prosecutor and defense attorney. She represented executives in the Enron scandal and, in 2019, defended retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn in the United States prosecuting Flynn. In 2020, Powell joined then-President Donald Trump's legal team to reverse President Joe Biden's victory over Trump in the 2020 presidential election
