Sonny William Williams is a New Zealand heavyweight boxer who is also a former professional rugby and rugby union athlete who last played as a second class striker and locks for the Sydney Roosters team in the National Rugby League. He is only the second person to represent New Zealand in the rugby league after playing for the country for the first time in the rugby league, and is one of 21 players to have won multiple World Cups. . Williams began his career in the rugby league and played second striker for eight out of three at the National Rugby League, with Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and Sydney Roosters. He made 12 caps for New Zealand and won the RLIF for Rookie of the Year in 2004 and International Player of the Year in 2013.
