Sonu Nigam is an Indian singer, music director and actor. He sings mainly in Hindi and Kannada but has also sung in Bengali, Gujarati, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Nepalese, Malayalam, Tulu and other Indian languages. Nigam has also released a number of non-movie albums and has starred in a number of Hindi films. Known as "Modern Rafi" after his idol Mohammad Rafi, Sonu has won many awards including an Oscar nomination.
