He is most recognized for his role as Pasupathi in Arundhati, a fantasy film released in 2009. In 2017, Sood announced that he would be producing a biopic on Olympic runner Pusarla Venkata Sindhu.
Sonu Sood is an Indian actor, producer, model and philanthropist who works primarily in films in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. In 2009, he received the Nandi State of Andhra Pradesh Award for Best Villain and the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor - Telugu for his role in the blockbuster Telugu Arundhati. In 2010, he won the Apsara Award for Best Actor in a Villain and an IIFA Award for Best Performance in a Villain for Bollywood Dabangg. In 2012, he received the SIIMA Award for Best Actor for the role Julayi. He is known for his roles in the movies Yuva, Athadu, Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Ashok, Jodhaa Akbar, Arundhati, Dookudu, Shootout at Wadala, Happy New Year, Kung Fu Yoga and Simmba. He has also appeared in advertisements for Apollo Tires and Airtel. In July 2016, he founded the production company Shakti Sagar Productions, named after his father, Shakti Sagar Sood.
