Stephen Chbosky is an American novelist, screenwriter and director best known for writing the New York Times best-selling teenage novel The Perks of Being a Wallflower, as well as writing and directing the film version of the same book, starring Logan Lerman , Emma Watson and Ezra Miller. He also wrote the screenplay for 2005 Rent and Disney's 2017 live-action adaptation, Beauty and the Beast, with Evan Spiliotopoulos and the show's co-creator, producer and screenwriter. CBS TV series Jericho, aired 2006-2008 Most recently, he directed the Wonder 2017 TV series, starring Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson and Jacob Tremblay. Her latest novel, The Fantasy Friend, was published in October 2019
