Stephen McConnell Case is an American entrepreneur, investor and entrepreneur best known as a former CEO and President of America Online. Case joined AOL's predecessor, Quantum Computer Services, as vice president of marketing and became the company's CEO in 1991. Since retiring as president of AOL Time Warner in in 2003, he invested in startups in the early and growth phases. through venture capital firm Revolution LLC headquartered in Washington, DC. Case is the author of The Third Wave: An Entrepreneur's Vision of the Future, which became the New York Times bestseller in 2016. Case had a side chat at TechCrunch Disrupt NYC on May 16, 2017, titled "Building Silicon Valley Outside of Valley." It supports a holistic entrepreneurial spirit and innovation through rides on Rise of the Rest and Case Foundation.
