Sydney Albert Edward Murphy is a former Vincentian cricketer. Murphy is a fast-moderate right-handed bowler. Born in the farming community of Lowman's Hill on St. Vincent Island, Murphy made his Windward Islands debut in Shell Shield's first game against Trinidad and Tobago in 1983/84. He then played for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in small regional matches since 1981. He arrived in England in 1985, where he played a day-long mini-nut match for Cornwall as part of the MCCA Knockout Trophy. He continued to play for Windward Islands until the 1986/87 Caribbean season, having a total of seven first-class appearances and three A-list appearances, with no notable success.
