Takumi Minamino is a Japanese professional footballer who is playing as an attacking midfielder or winger for Premier League club Southampton on loan from Liverpool and the Japanese national team. Minamino began his club career at the J.League Division 1 Cerezo Osaka in 2012 and in his first season was named Rookie of the Year at the J.League. In 2014 he joined Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg, where he spent four successful seasons. After impressive performances for the club, he joined Liverpool on January 1, 2020, winning the Premier League title in his first season. Making his senior international debut for Japan in 2015, Minamino played for the squad that reached the 2019 AFC Asian Cup final
