Carys Davina Gray-Thompson, Baron Gray-Thompson, better known as Tanni Gray-Thompson, is a Welsh politician, television presenter and former wheelchair racer. Despite naming Carys, her sister thought she was small compared to an infant and began to call her 'tiny', after a few days she became Tanni, who later she is known. She has also been a Principal of Northumbria University since July 2015. Gray-Thompson was born with spina bifida and is a wheelchair user. She is one of the UK's most successful disabled athletes. She graduated from Loughborough University in 1991 with a BA in Politics and Social Administration.
