Terrence Vance Gilliam is a director, screenwriter, host, actor, comedian and former member of the Monty Python comedy troupe. Gilliam has directed 14 feature films, including Time Pirates, Brazil, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, The Fisher King, 12 Monkeys, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Brothers Grimm, Tideland and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. As the only "Python" not born in the UK, he naturalized in the UK in 1968 and officially renounced his US citizenship in 2006. Gilliam was born in Minnesota, but spent her high school and college years in Los Angeles. He started his career as an entertainer and stripper. He joined Monty Python as a host for their works, but eventually became a full member and received roles. He became a feature film director in the 1970s
