After releasing his debut album Enter the Tiger in 1995, he soared to prominence in the 1990s. In 1999, he formed the band Drunken Tiger.

Tiger JK is a Korean-American rapper, record producer and businessman best known as the founding member of Korean hip hop group Drunken Tiger. He also founded two record labels, Jungle Entertainment and Feel Ghood Music. He is currently a member of the hip hop trio MFBTY. He is considered to be a great influence in the development of Korean hip-hop and is said to have helped transform the genre into mainstream Korea. The Los Angeles Times called him in 2011 "perhaps the most famous Korean rapper in America, Asia and the world".
