Tiko, originally known as "Keka" by Bakweris, is an important town and port in the southwest region of Cameroon. The village developed as a town for Duala fishermen, Bakweri farmers and hunters from Molyko, Bwenga, Bulu and Bokova. Main areas of Tiko include Streets 1-7, Motombolombo, Beach, New Town, P&T Zone, New Layout, Long Street, Likomba, Golf Club, Mutengene, Ombe. As of 2010, the city is estimated to have a population of 55,914 people. Tiko is a popular destination for tourists visiting Cameroon. The city is also an industrial zone mainly occupied by the CDC, which produces rubber, bananas and palm oil. Tiko hosts the Tiko Golf Club, which is a popular destination for golf enthusiasts. The Likomba Golf Course located in Likomba has 18 holes. During the dry season, large golf tournaments are organized here, as it is one of the only two golf courses in Cameroon.
