About Tim O'Brien
O'Brien is best known for his critically praised short story collection The Things They Carried, but his National Book Award-winning novel Going After Cacciato was also inspired by his Vietnam War experiences. In the Lake of the Woods, another of his works, won the James Fenimore Cooper Historical Fiction Prize in 1995.
