Timothy Grant Southee, is a New Zealand international cricketer who plays all forms of the game. He is a right-handed fast-middle pitcher and tough bot thrower. The third New Zealand pitcher makes 300 test shots, he is also the current vice-captain of the international team. He is one of New Zealand's youngest cricket athletes, making his debut at the age of 19 in February 2008. On his test debut with England, he took 5 shots and made gets 77 out of 40 balls in the second half. He played for Northern Districts in Plunket Shield, Ford Trophy and Super Smash as well as Northland in the Hawke Cup. He was appointed captain of New Zealand in his first T20I match against West Indies for Kane Williamson, who retired from that match. Blackcaps won this game by 47 races. Southee is known for its ability to make a late exit at a steady pace, and then cut slower balls almost like a faster spinner on a wet racquet and bowling to death.
