Thomas William Hiddleston is an English actor. He has received numerous awards, including a Golden Globe and a Laurence Olivier, as well as nominations for two Primetime Emmy Awards and a Tony Award. Hiddleston won his first double in classics at the University of Cambridge, then studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. Early in his career he appeared in the West End productions of Cymbeline and Ivanov. He won the Olivier Award for Best Newcomer in play for his role in Cymbeline and was also nominated for the same award for his role as Cassio in Othello. Hiddleston, who played the main character in the movie Coriolanus won the Standard Theater Evening Award for Best Actor and received an Olivier Award nomination for Best Actor. He made his Broadway debut in a 2019 cover by Betrayal, the film in which he was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Actor in a play.
