In mid-January 2020, "Dance Monkey" spent its 24th and last week at number one, breaking Bing Crosby's Australian record for the "White Christmas" version, having spent 22 weeks at number one. in 1943. "Dance Monkey" is the 14 × platinum recognized by ARIA for shipments of more than 980,000 units, as early as 2021. Tones is the highest honored artist at the ARIA 2019 Music Awards, won four out of eight nominations. Tones and I released their first extended play, The Kids Are Coming, on August 30, 2019, reaching number three in Australia and top 10 in several countries.
