About Tony Pulis

Former footballer from Wales who won the Football League Third Division with Bournemouth in 1986-1987. With Crystal Palace, he was crowned Premier League Manager of the Season in 2013-14. He took over as manager of Middlesbrough F.C. in 2017.

Anthony Richard Pulis is a Welsh football coach and former football player who recently coached Sheffield Wednesday. Pulis received the FA coaching badge at 19, followed by his UEFA "A" license at 21, making him one of the youngest professional players to achieve this certification. His son, Anthony, is a professional soccer player and plays for Stoke. Pulis has spent 17 years as a defender, where he played for Bristol Rovers, Newport County, Bournemouth and Gillingham. He also took a short vacation in Hong Kong with Happy Valley. Pulis took his first steps in his managerial career at Bournemouth, where he was a player / coach and then an assistant to Harry Redknapp. Then he took control as Redknapp left the club. He then went to Gillingham before leaving in 1999 after a dispute with President Paul Scally. Pulis continued to have fruitless times at Bristol City and Portsmouth before being appointed manager of Stoke City in 2002 .
