David Trent Johnston, commonly known as Trent Johnston, is a former Australian cricketer of Irish descent. Johnston was born in Wollongong, New South Wales, and played his first cricket for New South Wales in Australia's national leagues. A right-handed pitcher and a right-handed midfielder, he then moved to Ireland and made his debut for the Irish cricket team in 2004. Johnston was later named team captain. Ireland, and was a regular player for the national team. until his retirement in 2013. In the Irish Cricket Club, he plays for the Railroad Union Cricket Club. In October 2007, he published his book "Raiders of the Caribbean" with The O'Brien Press, which tells the story of Ireland's remarkable performances at the 2007 Cricket World Cup
