Tsai Ing-wen is a Taiwan politician and scholar who has held Taiwan's seventh presidency since 2016. A member of the Progressive Democratic Party, Tsai was Taiwan's first female president. She was president of the Progressive Democratic Party from 2020, and before that from 2008 to 2012 and 2014 to 2018. Tsai studied international law and business, then became a law professor at Soochow University Law School and National Chengchi University after graduation. LLB from National Taiwan University and LLM from Cornell Law School. After that, she studied law at the London School of Economics and Political Science, with a dissertation titled "Unfair trade practices and safeguards", and obtained a doctorate. on the law of University College London.
