Tuomas Lauri Johannes Holopainen is a Finnish musician, multi-instrumental musician and record producer best known as the founder, frontman, keyboardist and musician of the metal band Symphony Nightwish. He also learned jazz and classical style, but enjoys being influenced by the harmonious soundtrack. Prior to founding Nightwish, he played in Darkwoods My Betrothed. He then recorded an album with them as a full member in 2020. He also collaborated with the gothic metal band For My Pain ... and the band by Timo Rautiainen. Holopainen wrote a number of songs included in the soundtrack, including a collaboration with bassist Nightwish and singer Marco Hietala on "While Your Lips Are Still Red", for the Finnish movie Lieksa! 2007. He also co-wrote the music for Nightwish's own film, Imaginaerum, released in November 2012. Holopainen released his first solo album Music Inspired by the Life and Times of Scrooge in 2014.
