Tyson Cleotis Chandler is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association. Chandler was picked straight out of high school as the second main pick in the 2001 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers, who was then immediately traded for the Chicago Bulls. He also played for the New Orleans Hornets, Charlotte Bobcats, Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers. As the starting center for Dallas, he played a pivotal role in the franchise's first NBA championship in 2011. He was named three times on the NBA All-Defensive team. In New York City, Chandler was voted Defense Player of the Year at the NBA in 2012, when he was also featured in the All-NBA Third Team. He won the gold medal with the US National Team at the 2010 FIBA World Championship and the 2012 Summer Olympics
