Dame Valerie Kasanita Adams is a New Zealand basketball player. She is a four-time World Champion, four-time Indoor World Champion, two-time Olympic Champion, three-time Commonwealth Olympic Champion and two IAAF Continental Cup Champions. She has a personal best of 21.24m outdoors and 20.54m indoors. These marks are the National Archives of Oceania, Commonwealth of Commonwealth and New Zealand. She also holds the Oceania Records for Oceania Teens and Youth, as well as the World Championship Record, World Indoor Championship Record and Commonwealth Sports Festival Record. Adams is the third woman to win a world championship at the youth, junior and senior levels in an athletic event, following the exploits of Yelena Isinbayeva and Jana Pittman. She was the first woman to win four consecutive individual titles at the IAAF World Championship. Adams has a streak spanning 56 wins in elite level competitions, which started in August 2010 and ended July 2015 .
