Vernon Davis is a strict former club in American football. He played college rugby in Maryland and was ranked sixth in the 2006 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers team. In 2009, Davis co-led the NFL in touchdown receptions and won the first of two Pro Bowl selections of his career. In the 2011–12 NFL playoffs against the 49ers, Davis nabbed a winning touch from Alex Smith against the New Orleans Saints, known as "The Catch III". In 2015, Davis was negotiating with the Denver Broncos, where he won Super Bowl 50 with the team overcoming the Carolina Panthers. He then signed with the then-appointed Washington Redskins in 2016, where he played until his retirement after the 2019 season
