Victor Erik Olof Hedman is a Swedish professional ice hockey defenseman and substitute captain for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League. Hedman was selected second overall by Lightning in the 2009 NHL Draft. Widely regarded as one of the NHL's top defensemen, Hedman has won the James Norris Memorial Trophy four times and won that award in 2018 . In 2020, Hedman won the Stanley Cup with Lightning against the Dallas Stars, winning the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player of the knockout rounds.
