Became play-by-play announcer of the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1950, then followed with the team during their move to Los Angeles. He became the longest tenured broadcaster for a single team in the history of sports, with over 60 years in the booth for the Dodgers.
Vincent Edward Scully is a retired American sports athlete. He is best known for his 67 call-off seasons for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball, which began in 1950 and ended in 2016. His run is the longest run of any broadcaster with just one. team in professional sports history and he's second only to Tommy Lasorda in years with the Dodgers in any capacity. He retired at the age of 88 in 2016, ending his streak as a still-airing broadcaster. In his final season behind the microphone, Scully aired most of the Dodgers' home matches on SportsNet LA TV and KLAC. He's famous for his soft voice, lyrical portrayal style, and signature introduction to Dodger games: "It's time for the Dodger baseball team! Hello all of you and you are so. Happy to be anywhere. " According to fan rankings, Bleacher Report and Fox Sports, he is considered by many to be the greatest baseball announcer of all time.
