Vince Clarke is an English musician and synth-pop musician. Clarke has been the songwriter and main songwriter of the Erasure group since its founding in 1985, and previously served as the main songwriter of several groups, including Depeche Mode, Yazoo and Assembly. In Erasure, he is known for his serious and non-serious demeanor on stage, often motionless on the keyboard, in stark contrast to Andy Bell's spirited and hyperactive soldierly antics. Erasure has recorded over 200 songs and sold over 28 million albums worldwide. Vince Clarke is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020 as a member of Depeche Mode.
