Vivian Howard is an American chef, restaurant owner, author and television presenter. From 2013 to 2018, Howard hosted the PBS TV show A Chef's Life focused on the ingredients and culinary traditions of Eastern North Carolina - using the setting of Chef & the Farmer in Kinston, NC , which Howard co-owns with her husband, business partner and artist, Ben Knight. In 2014, Howard was the first woman since Julia Child to win the Peabody Award for a cooking show. In 2017, she authored the Deep Run Roots Memory Cookbook.
