Wendell Edward Pierce is an American actor and businessman. He is known for his roles in HBO dramas such as Detective Bunk Moreland in The Wire and tromboine Antoine Batiste in Treme; in addition to portraying James Greer in Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, powerful lawyer Robert Zane in Suits and Michael Davenport in Waiting to Exhale. Pierce also played roles in the films Malcolm X, Ray and Selma, and played Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman on the West End produced in London in 2019 at the Piccadilly Theater. He has been nominated three times for the Independent Spirit Award.
