Wendi A. McLendon-Covey is an American actress and comedian. She is best known for her comedic and impromptu roles. Since 2013, McLendon-Covey has played the role of family matriarch Beverly Goldberg in the ABC comedy series The Goldbergs, where she was nominated for two critically-selected television awards for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. Originally from Long Beach, California, McLendon-Covey did a lot of work after graduating from high school before graduating from California State University in 2000. After graduating, she became a member of The Groundlings, a group improvised comedies in Los Angeles, and remained a member until 2009. McLendon-Covey began his acting career while still a member of The Groundlings, as Clementine Johnson in the Comedy Central Reno impromptu series 911! She also starred in the short-lived comedy series Lovespring International, as well as small roles in Bewitched and Over Her Dead Body.
